At FCH Construction, our mission is simple: to deliver reliable, high-quality civil and utility infrastructure services with integrity, precision, and purpose.  As a family-run business we are built on decades of real-world experience, with a work ethic grounded in trust, consistency, and a hands-on approach.

Founded by Fraser Hart and shaped by the practical know-how of working alongside his father Charlie, our company was born from necessity and grown through commitment. From the first job using a borrowed van, to a fleet of cutting-edge vehicles and specialist equipment, we’ve built FCH on the belief that no job is too small, and no challenge too complex.

Our values guide everything we do as a company to ensure the most effective and efficient service is being provided at all costs, regularly seeing Fraser do the site visits himself to ensure the workload continues to progress. Each value has been chosen as it’s a direct correlation between current and future targets.

Safety is of paramount — not just a box to tick, but a lived standard that protects our workforce, our clients, and the communities that FCH serve.

Teamwork With every member of our team undergoes ongoing training across excavation methods, confined space work, first aid, and plant operation. Whether we’re trenching through open ground or using suction excavation in built-up areas, our teams operate with professionalism and care.

Sustainability: Sustainable responsibility is not optional. We use trenchless technologies like directional drilling, Moling, and pipe bursting to minimise disruption to land, roads, and green spaces. By investing in low-emission vehicles and equipment — including our X-Way 8x4 fleet and specialist vacuum excavators — we actively reduce our carbon impact while improving efficiency.

Innovation:  FCH is continuously focused on ensuring we have the right equipment to undertake the right job.  We also ensure that we grow the FCH brand by buying the best equipment available.  By doing this and by having the latest technology available to hand allows the team members the ability to undertake asks with efficiency and with an effective outcome.  That’s why when you see an FCH van, truck, car or van, you can be assured its one of the top vehicles available for that task.

Community: FCH isn’t just a company, it’s a team. Our workforce includes long-term staff, apprentices, and family members across operations, transport, finance, and administration. We believe in developing people, not just skills. That’s why we’re committed to supporting apprenticeship schemes and mentoring young workers who are practical, capable, and ready to learn.

We’re also deeply embedded in our local area. From supporting local projects to providing emergency response for infrastructure failures, we’re proud to be a dependable presence across Scotland and beyond.

Our longstanding relationship with Scottish Water is a reflection of our reliability and technical ability, and we continue to grow by recommendation and reputation, not just advertising.

Ultimately, our mission is to be a contractor that clients, employees, and communities can rely on — one that delivers consistently, adapts intelligently, and never loses sight of its roots.
